How much does a rental cost?
Prices fluctuate based on season and availability much the way airline prices fluctuate. We list all of our nightly rates on our calendar. You can expect to pay this nightly rate and a refundable deposit. If there is no damage or overages when you return this is all you would pay.

How do I pay for the rental?
All payments are typically done with a major credit card, cash, or check. Check is preferred and in some cases there is a merchant fee for using a credit card.

What is the cost of mileage?
You will have a certain number of miles per day that is included with your rental (see the agreed contract).  At the end of the rental you will be charged at the rate of 35¢ for additional miles in excess of these miles.

Is there a charge for the generator?
Yes. There may be some generator usage included in your rental (see the agreed contract). At the end of the rental you will be charged for the hours in excess of these hours at a rate of  $3.50 per hour as determined by an installed running time meter. You can save on this expense by staying in locations that have electrical hookups and not leaving the generator running when you are not in the vehicle.  A generator is only needed for the coach air conditioner, microwave and electrical outlets. A generator is not necessary for normal vehicle operation and is subject to frequent service interruption.

What deposits are required?
A minimum of $1000 security deposit is required to reserve your dates.  The remainder of your rental charges are payable at departure. For certain rental applications, deposits may be increased.

Can I rent the RV for Burning Man?

The short answer is "no". If you take our RV to the Black Desert you will lose your entire deposit. Here is the deal with burning man - Playa dust is like cancer for RVs. It's hard on the generator, AC, engine, and get almost everywhere in and out of the RV. When an RV comes back from Burning Man air filters need to be changed, oil needs to be changed, and the entire inside and out need to be detailed. The detailing typically costs as much as the rental itself. I recommend contacting one of the large chain RV rental companies for Burning Man.

Do I need my own insurance?

No. Insurance is included when you book directly through us. If you are booking through a third party (RVShare, Outdoorsy, etc.) you will have the same insurance but will pay their additional fees. It is always less expensive to book direct.

What constitutes a “Rental Day”?
Similar to a hotel, the Rental Day is based on number of nights the vehicle is used. Each night constitutes a rental day.

Besides the rental cost are there any other charges I will incur?
The generator fee is $3.50 per hour and will be collected upon return of the rental. Customer agrees that s/he will return the unit in the same condition as s/he received it. A fee of up to $250 will be charged if the interior of the vehicle has not been cleaned. Damages or loss of equipment will be paid for by the renter. Holding tank must be emptied prior to return of the vehicle or be subject to an additional dump charge of $50.

Can we travel one way to our destination or do we have to travel round trip?
No. The RV must be returned to Salt Lake City.

Do I need a special driver’s license to drive a motorhome?
All you need is to be 25 years of age or older and possess a valid driver’s license and a major credit card. No special endorsement is needed. Temporary licenses are not accepted.  All drivers must be listed on and sign the Rental Agreement and will be bound by Terms and Conditions of the Rental Agreement at vehicle pick up.

When can I pick up or return the motorhome?
Vehicle departure and drop off days are Monday through Friday. Departure time is normally between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. Vehicle drop off time is normally between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. There is a $50 fee for Saturday, Sunday or Holiday pickups or drop offs. Please check with us ahead of time to see if this is a possibility.

What if I return the vehicle before the date it is due?
No refunds will be made for early returns or late pick ups.

What if I am late in returning the vehicle?
Unless prior arrangements have been made the vehicle is overdue after 11:00 AM on the date of return. A fee of $25 per hour will be charged for each hour you are late. Please notify us if you will be late in returning.

Can I make a change to a reservation?
We are happy to make some changes to your current reservation, however the change may require a rate adjustment based on current rates in effect at time of change. Changes are subject to current availability. Name changes to reservations are not permitted. Reservations are non-transferable. The person that made the reservation must be present at pickup and possess a valid credit card and driver's license.

What if I have to cancel my reservation?
You may cancel your reservation but you will forfeit your reservation down payment.

Motorhomes handle much like a van.  If you are an experienced driver, you can adapt to the greater size, weight, and height of an RV.

Yes. Basic cookware is provided. Pillows, linens, sleeping bags, camp chairs can be provided upon request. If you need something specific let me know and we can work something out.

Does the motorhome come with a TV?
Yes. It is equipped with a TV and DVD player with HDMI input.

No. We suggest you bring a canopy if you need shade or check with the RV park if you are staying in one.

Are pets allowed in the motorhomes?

Is there a limit to how many people can ride in the motorhome?
There are 7 seat belts. You are required to comply with applicable laws.

Are there facilities nearby where we can purchase supplies, propane and dispose of holding tank contents?
Yes. RVDump website is a great resource for locations that allow dumping the holding tanks.  Most basic RV supplies can be purchased at WalMart in their RV section typically near the camping supplies. Some campgrounds, U-Haul, Pilot Flying J, and several gas stations will refill your propane for you.

Can I tow my car or boat behind the motorhome?
We do allow towing. You must declare your intention to tow prior to departure and warrant that towing weight is within 2,500 lb. tow weight restrictions. A daily towing charge maybe be imposed. Insurance does not cover damage to the towed object or for third-party injury inflicted by the towed object, under any circumstances.

Is it possible to travel in the winter in the colder areas?
Yes, however motorhomes in Salt Lake are  “winterized” typically from approximately mid-October to late March. This means we have completely drained the water and holding tanks. This will prevent the tanks and pipes from freezing and bursting. If you chose to have your rental motorhome “de-winterized” (so that you can use your sink, shower, and toilet) it will cost $50. You will need to exercise extreme care while traveling in a “de-winterized” motorhome during frigid weather. You will need to run the heater at all times to protect the tanks and pipes from freeze damage. If the pipes or tanks were damaged from freezing, it is considered negligent damage and you will be responsible for the full cost of all repairs. If you have any more questions on the rental policies during winter, please contact me.

Are there any places we cannot take the motorhome?
Yes. Violations of these restrictions void damage waivers and the renter will be held liable for all vehicle damages including to tires, towing charges and other related expenses as a result of a breakdown associated with operating in these areas. Don't lose your deposit.

Unpaved Roads
Travel on non-public roads, unpaved back roads, trails and the like – commonly called logging roads or on any surface subjecting the vehicle to unreasonable damage or road hazard is prohibited. We reserve the right to restrict travel, dependent on current road conditions.

Death Valley
Vehicles may be operated with EXTREME CARE in Death Valley and other desert areas during the months of July and August. In Summer, renters visit these areas at their own risk and the Owner will not be held responsible for extraordinary vehicle recovery and other charges. During certain periods these areas are not habitable and could pose a danger to the driver and passengers.

Due to restrictions on vehicle heights, propane gas and parking, vehicles with propane are not permitted in Manhattan and are not permitted to travel through any underground or underwater tunnels.

Burning Man (Black Rock Desert of Nevada)

See FAQ above about Burning Man.

Do you have baby car seats and cribs available?
Please plan to bring your own car seats and/or cribs. If this is not possible please contact us ahead of time and we may be able to work something out.

Is it safe to drink the water from the motorhome tank?
No, we do not recommend this. It is difficult to know if the water is potable when you fill the tank at a variety of locations. We recommend you use bottled water for drinking and cooking. The water from the tank is fine for washing and bathing.

What if the motorhome breaks down?
Please contact us immediately so we can help you get back on the road as soon as possible. Any damage that occurs during your rental will be your responsibility. This includes damages or failures that may or may not be your fault. Such situations are rare, but if they do occur you will need to file a claim through your insurance. This may include tire repairs, appliance repairs, or any other repair necessary to restore the RV to the received condition. If you booked through RVShare or Outdoorsy please be aware that  they have a $1,500 deductible that you will be responsible for.

Is there a ladder so we can get on the roof to watch the race?
We do not have ladders on the RV for safety reasons and to prevent damage to the motorhome.

Are there bike racks?

Are there levelers provided?

Can you pick me up/drop me off at the airport?
Uber and Lyft are usually only $5 from the airport. However, we may be able to pick you up under certain circumstances.

How can I learn to operate the components on the motorhome?

What happens if the RV is unavailable?
In some rare cases (it has not happened yet) the RV may need a repair after a previous rental and may not be available when you arrive. This would be an extremely rare, unavoidable situation. We will do all we can to take care of you.
